I can't believe that Christmas is upon us!  We've had an amazing week full of poetry, multiplication and literature.  Students have been working hard and I'm very proud of their progress.

Next week will be special for all of us!  Third graders will watch a movie on Monday morning as a treat from Mr. Keays and Ms. Smith.  We will have our classroom auction on Tuesday.  Kids have been collecting marbles for all of their hard work to use as money in the auction.  Our holiday party will take place on Wednesday morning.  Mrs. Harrington will be cooking up a delicious breakfast for us with the help of our other awesome parents!  On Friday, we'll be participating in a marshmallow experiment while drinking hot cocoa and watching "The Polar Express".  I can't wait!

I am accepting plastic silverware donations currently.  Thank you!  :)

I'd like to thank all of the parents for the wonderful conferences over the past few weeks.  Thank you for your time and support.

We will be working hard on multiplication and division facts over the next several weeks.  Please expect your child to come home with math fact triangles to practice with next week.

Students will have a spelling cafe choice each night for homework as well as a math assignment.  Please let me know if you need a reminder of your child's username and password for the IXL and Typing Pal websites.

Have a fabulous weekend!

We've already started a fabulous week here at LSS!  Our Halloween decorations are up in the classroom and kids are super excited for the Cornfield Character celebration on Friday!  Parents, please remember that Cornfield Characters must be dropped off on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning.  The orange paper with the character's name, child's name and teacher should be fastened to it.

Students will have a spelling cafe choice and a math assignment each night this week.

Conference forms will be going home this week.  Please circle your top three choices for a conference time with me and I'll do my best to accommodate everyone.  :)

We will be doing a solar system experiment on Thursday related to the moon's craters.  Please ask your child about what he or she learned that day.

Thank you!  Have a wonderful week!

I am so proud of our class for winning an extra recess due to full participation in last Friday's events!  Everyone looked great in their special outfits!

Students will have a math assignment and spelling cafe choice each night for homework Monday through Thursday.  We are focusing on words with two closed syllables this week.

We have been preparing for the upcoming NECAP exams.  Students have been responding to various genres of literature in written format.  They have also completed multiple choice problems related to both reading and math.

Have a wonderful week!

We had another great start to the school week with lots of sunshine and fun!  Please remember that we will be celebrating Exeter's 375th anniversary this Friday, September 27th.  Students are encouraged to dress in clothing reminiscent of days past in Exeter's history.  Some ideas include: Native Americans, Pilgrims, Immigrants, 60's, 70's or 80's costumes.

Homework this week will be a math worksheet and spelling cafe choice for each night.

I appreciate all of the parents who have offered to volunteer this year.  Math Fact Volunteer Training will occur on Wednesday, October 9th in the LSS director's office at 2:15pm.
*Please know that volunteers will be asked to begin helping in the classroom when NECAP testing is over.

Many thanks,
Mara Andriski
