December 10-14

"How did it get so late so soon?
It's night before it's afternoon.
December is here before it's June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?"
~Dr. Seuss

We began the week with the 5th grade Band and Chorus Concert. It was such a lovely morning and we enjoyed the music immensely. I hope to see my third graders performing one day. :)

We will continue with Unit 4 in math this week. Please see your child's Home Link for our daily Learning Objective. Students will have a Home Link each night for homework.

Students have three more spelling assignments due before the test on Thursday, the 13th. This will be our last spelling test of the year. :) Students will get their next pretest when we return to school in January.

We will finish our Native American and Biome Units over the next two weeks. We will begin our Simple Machine Unit after vacation.

Ms. Clifford, our Guidance Counselor, will join our class on Wednesday morning for a lesson on the Zones of Regulation. Please ask your child what he or she learned from this important instruction.

Please return After School Activities forms for students interested in participating in this fun program.

Have a spectacular week! :)

December 3-7

"December's wintery breath is already clouding the pond, frosting the pane, obscuring summer's memory..."

We began the week by reading a folktale and discussing the moral of the story. Students have been exposed to various folktales throughout the last week. They will be comparing and contrasting them for a writing activity tomorrow.

We will review for the Unit 3 math test this afternoon. The review packet will go home for students to study tonight. The assessment will be given tomorrow. We will begin Unit 4 on Wednesday. Please look for the daily Learning Objective on each Home Link.

Students will have their Lesson 8 spelling test tomorrow. Their last homework is due tomorrow. Please look for a new spelling pretest and list to go home on Thursday.

*Early Release on Wednesday!*

Have a fantastic week! :)
